SENSORS
First sensors product line is designed and tested to the highest standards. All sensors have been vibration tested, environmentally tested and are designed to function at temperatures beyond 125 C.
MOTOR CYCLE SHIFT SENSOR FS-MC-1
This compact sensor is the bench mark in Super Bike and Moto GP
FS-MC-1 is light weight but extremely robust sensor. Over the last 10 years we have sold thousands of these sensors to Moto GP super Bikes, rally Cars and test machines or simulators.
It is an inline sensor and is available in 3 different thread types. In addition there is also a duel output version available that give two output signals.
GEAR CUT SENSOR FS-GC-TG
Now with thermal gradient compensation
The FS-GC-TG has been designed to meet the needs of a modern competition car. In most cases where these are used there is a massive thermal gradient due to heat from the gear stick.
The FS-GC-TG has our patented thermal gradient technology to eliminate zero offset drift. This is crucial when making gear cut strategies reliable. The robust design reproduced by many different companies, continues to improve. Our philosophy is 'don't copy inivate'.
FIRST SENSORS INLINE AMPLIFIERS
The smallest inline amplifier available in motorsport
FS-AMP-1 has been designed to work with strain gauge based sensors that require amplification. The compact design makes it perfect for fitting next to looms or passing though holes in the chassis. The FS-AMP-C is housed on the back of a Size 2 connector making it the same length of as a standard boot. This is the solution we use for our strain gauged suspension System.
K TYPE THERMACOUPLE TO CAN BUS FS-CAN-K
Ultra compact robust design 4 channel thermacouple
This 4 Channel unit has been designed to reduce the weight and size of the standard K type to CAN.
It is also available as a 8 channel version to the same specification but with the extra 4 inputs.
custom versions are available on request for additional inputs.
8 CHANNEL ANOLOG TO CAN CONVERTER FS-AD-CAN
The most compact 8 channel CAN node available
The use of this 8 channel device has become popular choice on F1 cars to expand the number of anologue inputs for their data loggers. It is however compatible with any data logger that has a CAN bus, therefore is suited to all types types of motorsport. The high quality true 16 bit converstion gives fantastic clean logging at a very reasonable cost.
8 CHANNEL PRESSURE SCANNER FS-PS8-MK2
Ultra compact pressure scanner now in a even smaller package
The FS-PS8-CAN has been specifically designed to aid the collection of aerodynamic data. Using the industry standard scanivalve making it easy to apply pressure taps and fit in suitable location due to its small light weight surround. This device is temperature compensated and is extremely accurate.
16 x 4 PIXEL IR ARRAY FS-16X4-64
Taking realtime tyre measurements to the next level
This ultra compact mutipixel array has rapidily become the industry standard in F1 when recording multiple measurements across a tyre. The Fact this sensor has a CAN output means it has seamless integration when using with the standard ECU in F1. With half of the Grid opting to use the sensor since its arrival in late 2012 We have made it available in a micro format half the size of the original. This sensor is also available as a bare assembly making it possible to incorporate into custom designs such as on front wings, floors and wing mirrors. Due to the incredibly compact design it can be installed without affecting aero.
32 x 1 PIXEL IR ARRAY FS-32 X 1
Wing mirror mount sensor for F1 and open wheel cars
This sensor interlaces two 16x4 sensors to make a 32 pixel array. The purpose of the sensor design is to obtain a more accurate understanding of the behaviour of front tyres. Usually mounted in the wing mirrors its field of view can record data over whole of the tyre even when the wheels are at full and opposite lock.
16 x 1 WIDE ANGLE SENSOR FS-16 X 1-W
Close Up data for GT and Le MANS cars
This sensor has been specificaly designed for use in closed wheel formula for example Le Mans.
The sensors can be placed less than 100 mm from the tyre and provides a full 16 Pixels of data across the tyre.
This sensor gives an invaluable understanding of the behaviour of the tyre applied to any closed wheel racing car.
CLUTCH SENSOR FS-CL-D
Digital clutch temperature measurement
This clutch sensor has been developed with the input of a prominent Formula One team. The result being very accurate & reliable measurements of clutch temperatures. Clutch temperature is a vital measurement on a F1 Car for start strategies. We have designed this sensor with a blank sheet of paper. The sensor has a linear output and is digitally compensated using 'Digi IR', our unique software that measures gradients and temperature changes to the sensor in four directions.
BRAKE TEMPERATURE IR SENSOR FS-B-1000-D
Digital IR Brake temperature sensor
This sensor incorporates the Digi IR technology and is maxmised for measuring Brake disc temperatures. Designed with accuracy as the main focus, its temperature compensation has made it a instant success in Formula One, in addition to being utilised on the car its also being used on dynos to aid brake duct development.
The output is analogue but the sensor is truly digital and uses mulitpile temperature sensors to determine its environment in order to correct the output. The sensor comes with an internal temperature sensor output as standard.
SINGLE SPOT TYRE TEMPERATURE SENSOR FS-200-IR-1
The smallest lightest single spot IR Sensor available
This IR sensor is a single spot sensor and has become very popular in its use in the measurement of tyres and wheel rims. Due to its compact size it can be mounted in very restricted spaces. This is a very small sensor offering brilliant accuracy as one of its main feature.
This thermal image camera has been designed from a blank sheet of paper with the goal of achieving the worlds smallest thermal image camera. Its super light weight and its compact design makes it perfect to fit in front wing mirrors or to be mounted on front wings to monitor tyre temperatures. It has incredible accuracy and with its built in memory storage can record over12 hours of 9Hz data. For more information down load the data sheet or call on 01379 642 444
